While most queer individuals would also identify with the all-encompassing rainbow flag, many want to have their own individual flag. In fact, there are now over 50 flags recognized among the LGBTQ+ community, each used to symbolize different gender identities and sexual orientations within. Nor that there are now more inclusive versions that specifically recognize the trans, intersex, and POCs in our diverse community.Īnd when we are talking about the different LGBTQ Flags and their meanings, there is far more than just this one flag. Rainbow Capitalism aside (which this is not), thank you for being a part of D&D's growing push to be an amazing, inclusive hobby. While most of us are now familiar with the famous LGBT rainbow flag representing queer pride, many of us are not aware that it is different from the original rainbow Gay Pride Flag designed by Gilbert Baker. It's the ones who stay 'neutral' while, and I quote DxJxC here, "take money from both sides." and then use that money to quietly fund morally reprehensible Good on you for showing your support for the LGBT+ community, as is depressingly evident from the existence of this thread, support like this for marginalised groups is a contentious issue.
As I mentioned above, it's not the companies who say they support Pride, or the troops, or women in gaming that are the 'dangerous' ones. And you seem to be conflating companies expressing an affiliation with a certain leaning, political or otherwise, with them being directly involved in it. It does raise awareness of political issues surrounding the LGBT+ community, but Pride in of itself is no more a political issue than Black History Month or International Woman's Day. It's the companies who keep quiet and then funnel money into supporting lobbyist groups that I want to Supporting Pride (which is what the logo is about, it's Pride month) isn't a political issue. One of the reasons I like WotC is because they're openly inclusive. Please do not consider the original I'd would rather companies be open with their leanings so I know who to support with my $/£/€. If you remove that symbol, I will remember that when I consider future purchases. If big, influential companies we support as consumers won't stand on social issues, who else can we really rely on? Politicians? ,:) (Like you would show support for Black Lives Matter if it's important for the African community). And, as a company supporting a huge community, it's great that you show respects even to the less visible parts of it. I don't think there is enough representation and more of it is always appreciated. I want to see more of that when I go and play games. It's good to see one of the leading forces in the D&D community be so supportive and inclusive. I noticed the rainbow heart a couple of days ago. I pay 60$ a year for my characters list and the ability to share content with my players. I bought the Legendary Bundle on the first sale and have purchased much more content since then. You most probably will not see any of the replies to this thread, and you might even have posted for trolling, but if that's what you come up with for attention, I am deeply sad for you. You don't like it? Fair enough, you can keep pretending it doesn't exist, but don't you think for a second that you have any right to tell a company or anyone else they should not support and promote something that is harmless to you but so important for so many other people.
You must be living under a rock not to know that WotC and DDB are both extremely vocal in their support of the LGBT+ community, and that several employees of WotC are in fact part of it.Īt your table, you are free to pretend anything you do not like does not exist, but other individuals and companies have the right and to some extent the DUTY to promote inclusion and respect in their hobby and products. This would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad. Lost alot of respect and consider this for future purchases.
You wouldnt want to see a "Black Lives Matter" under or next to the DND Beyond Logo would you? It's not for companies to promote or go against social issues. I dont want to see that when I go and play a game. This is for people to choose what they do but not companies. I just dropped $300+ for the Legendary bundle and then notice you are showing a "gay pride" rainbow heart. Monstrous Compendium Volume One: Spelljammer Creatures
